Wheaton College Mission Statement
Mission: The mission of Wheaton College is to provide an excellent liberal arts education in a small, residential coeducational learning community, enabling students to understand and participate in shaping the multicultural, interdependent world of which they are a part. Collaborations with faculty and staff challenge and transform students into lifelong learners with skills to become problem solvers committed to justice and the global community. Wheaton teaches men and women to live and work as equal partners by linking learning, work and service in a community which values equally the contributions of men and women.
Philosophy of Disability Services
The guiding principles by which we operate encourage independence, self-awareness, and self-advocacy. Our goal is to help students reach their potential by assisting in the transition to an independent level of learning and living at Wheaton and in the world.
As a recipient of Federal assistance, we are committed to the prohibition of discrimination in the recruitment, admission, and education of students with disabilities. Qualified students receive academic adjustments and auxiliary aids on a case by case basis, based upon their documentation.
Please feel free to contact the Academic Advising Center if you have any questions.
