Universal Wheaton ID and Official email address
For almost all electronic service hosted by the college you will use what is referred to as a Universal Wheaton ID to login.
Wheaton ID
Your Universal Wheaton ID is printed on the front of your Wheaton College ID card (the ID begins with a w and is followed by 8 numbers). For example, "w00004365". New students, faculty members, and staff members get their ID photos taken at Public Safety when they first arrive on campus. Current members of the Wheaton community already have new ID cards with their Universal Wheaton IDs printed on the front.
Email address
Everyone at Wheaton College has an email address created in the form of lastname_firstname@wheatoncollege.edu. This address is considered your official college email address (for business cards, directories, etc.) If there is more than one person on campus with the same first and last names, you may be given a longer email address that is unique to you (ex: lastname_firstname2@wheatoncollege.edu).
Where do I use my Universal Wheaton ID?
You must use your Universal Wheaton ID when you log in to these electronic services.
- Wheaton College email (including Thunderbird, Webmail)
- insideWheaton provides convenient, one-stop access to the college's news, events and web-based services. While there, check your email, read campus news and group announcements, access self-service options through WINDOW and Banner, update your emergency contact information, and even customize insideWheaton so it works best for you.

- MeetingMaker (Calendaring software used by staff members for managing personal and shared calendars)
Account setup for new users
If you are a new member of the Wheaton community you have to set up your Wheaton account before you can use your "w" ID for accessing electronic services. To setup your account visit insideWheaton and on the right hand side of the login page select the link labeled setup your account
Banner users only
When logging in to Banner or FOCUS, use the username you were given when your account was set up -- this may or may not be your new Wheaton ID. If you have questions, contact Banner support at x3410.
Do I use a capital W or a lowercase w when logging in?
Type your Universal Wheaton ID with a lowercase w.
If you need help making these changes, contact the Support Center at x3900.
