Rasamny earns NEILA All-New England accolade for first timeMay 14, 2008
The senior tri-captain was one of six second-team midfielders, and one of 12 overall, as the lone Pilgrim League player among the 28 named to the two NEILA All-New England squads. Of the remaining five second-team midfielders, four hailed from New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) institutions, and another played for nationally-ranked Endicott College. This honor was Rasamny's second of the spring, as he also landed on the Pilgrim League All-Conference second team. As one of just two Lyon upperclassmen who played on the offensive side of the ball, Rasamny recorded 20 goals, 13 assists and 33 points, as well as notching three man-up goals. He finished his career ranking ninth in program history with 116 points. In addition to 60 goals, Rasamny is tied for third in assists (56), having become the fourth Lyon with 50 goals and assists while appearing in a program-record 61 contests. At 8-9 overall and 5-2 in conference play, the Lyons turned in their best Pilgrim finish since 1998 by tying for second in the league standings. Wheaton notched a Pilgrim League Tournament semifinal victory before falling by a 9-5 final in the title game to Springfield College, which eventually advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
