Profile: The University of Wollongong was recognized in 2004 & 2005 as a 5-star Research Intensive Univeristy by the Australian University Guide. It has also been ranked as a leader in educational experience and graduate outcomes. The university offers programs of study across nine different faculties and is home to approximately 18,000 undergraduates, with 2,500 international students coming from 70 different countries each year.
Location: The University is located in the beautiful lllawarra Region of Australia. Wollongong is surrounded by beaches, national parks, and just 90 minutes away from downtown Sydney. It is also home to the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere, Nan Tien Temple.
Duration: Academic Year, Fall, and Spring Semesters. Pre-Semester Program available in January & June.
Program dates:
Fall 2009 (Spring): July 13 - November 15, 2009
Spring 2010 (Autumn): February 17 - June 21, 2010
Courses & credit: Students enroll in three to four courses during their study abroad which will equal 4.0 Wheaton credits. A full time course load for a semester at the University of Wollongong is 24 credit points. Pre-Semester students enroll in one 8-credit course which is equivalent to 1.3 Wheaton credits.

Admission requirements: Students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Creative Arts applicants must submit a portfolio along with the regular application materials. See application materials for more information.
Housing & board: Students live in single and shared rooms in the catered residence halls (Weerona College, Campus East, International House, and RJC) or in self-catered apartment accommodations (KeiraView, and Kooloobong).
Fees: Wheaton Comprehensive Fee. Expenses covered include tuition and fees, housing, board (except KeiraView, and Kooloobong), academic field trips, round trip group flight from Los Angeles, Australian insurance, gym membership & URAC fees, UniCentre fees, shuttle tickets (Campus East), and an ISIC card.
Other Expenses: Students are responsible for passport and visa fees, round-trip airfare to Los Angeles, Supplemental Study Abroad Insurance, internet fees, linen rental fees, and personal expenses.
